CARTERVILLE – The varsity boys wrestling team started their season off with a win. On December 1st the boys were originally supposed to be in a triangular match including Red Bud and McCracken. After McCracken canceled due to storm concerns, the Lions were able to concentrate on only Red Bud for their home opener. The Lions ended the match winning 54-24 against the Musketeers.
Individual winners Jeremiah Bouchard (pin), Austin Campbell(13-3), Addison Mann(pin), and Terry Mick(pin) helped bring the Lions to victory. The lions are now preparing for their next match at the Williams Co. Cup tournament at Herrin High School on December 4.
