Lions Softball Send Bulldogs to the Pound

CARTERVILLE- Wednesday night the CHS Softball team demolished their opponent Harrisburg, 11-0. 

Senior Katie Keirn started the game in the circle for the Lions. She threw 4 innings and only gave up a single hit. 

After starting in her final home opener, Kiern stated that ”it was a bittersweet moment but it felt great to get the season started.”

Freshman Taryn Ford came in to relieve. She threw to 6 batters, impressively striking out 5 of them. 

Not only was it a solid game defensively, but the Lions acquired 14 hits on offense. Senior outfielder Kayelyn Rice went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Junior Karson Caudill was 2-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. 

Maddie “Dawg” Rosenberry sent a rocket over the left field fence in the 5th driving in 2 runs. She had 3 RBIs in the game overall.
