CARTERVILLE – As the season is heading towards its ending, James Cravens had the start at the mound and pitched through 6 innings, which helped lead baseball to a 6-3 win against the Murphysboro Red Devils.

The first inning was a great one for the Lions as they scored three runs.

The Lions would break back into the run column in the third inning, taking a 4-0 lead.

Cravens allowed only two hits in the entire game, both coming in the fourth inning allowed the Red Devils two runs.

The Lions would have one more inning of scoring in the sixth. They got some extra insurance by drawing up a 6-2 lead going into the final inning of play.

In the seventh, Cravens would be relieved by shortstop Peyton Bittle, who would only allow one hit and run while getting the save.

The Lions won the game with a final of 6-3 with an astonishing 13 hits, which is one of the best performances from the Lions this season.
