Lady Lions Kick off Their Season With a Win

CARTERVILLLE – The Lady Lions soccer teams started off their season with a 14-0 win over the DuQuoin Indians. 

The game started off in the Indian’s possession. However the Lions took hold of the ball and senior Audi Strothman made a goal in the 1st minute with an assist from sophomore Hillary Siemer.

The Lady Lions had hold of the ball for the rest of the first half with goals from Strothman, Siemer, Rylee Davis (Jr.), Amanda Howerton (Sr.), and an own goal by DuQuoin. Bringing the score to 10-0 Lions at the break.

During the second half, Hannah Tran (Jr.) scored a total of 3 goals, as well as one for Madison Shaws (Fr.).

The game remained one-sided for the rest of the match, only leaving the Indians side occasionally.
