CARTERVILLE – The Carterville Lions kept their winning streak alive Tuesday night as they played the West Frankfort Redbirds on their home court. The Lions proved they were there to win, finishing with an outstanding score of 81-46.

Carterville’s Caden Hawkins started the game off right with the first 13 points in the game. After that, the Lions were unstoppable.

When asked about the early lead in the first half, Hawkins said that the Lions have “been sharing the ball really well lately. Right now, [they all] are on the same page on the offensive side of the floor.””

Head Coach Shane Hawkins acknowledged the early Lion lead and utilized it to display the depth of the Lions’ roster.

A few notable contributions came from Maddox Crain, a junior, who showed his skills with a 3-point basket in the first half, alongside power-forward Chris Clover’s hook-shot and 3-point basket to wrap up the 4th quarter.

The Lions turn their sights on Nashville as they head to Assembly Hall on Friday, February 4.
