CARTERVILLE – The Carterville Boys Cross Country team came in fifth at their home meet on Monday, September 27th. The Lions’ leading runner, Sean Taylor, placed fourth overall with a time of 16:53, one second behind Nashville’s Ray Habeck. 

The boys ended up getting a total score of 212 and placed 5th out of 12 teams. The boys varsity team is made up of Sean Taylor, Drew Balmforth, JT houghlan, Adam Foster, River Costin, and Sylwester

The Lions girls placed first at their invitational with 94 points. Freshman Molly Robertson placed fourth overall with a 19:47, setting her new personal best of the season. Senior Macey Lentz was the second runner for the team with a time of 21:08 and placed 10th. 

The varsity girls consist of Molly Robertson, Macey Lentz, Lexie Watts, Lillian Carsurd, Hannah Dunn, Megan Fleege, Clarissa Buckles.
