On September 15, the bass fishing team attended a tournament at Crab Orchard to determine whether or not they qualified to fish at the hunting and fishing days tournament.

Seniors Colin Laczynski and Nick Kralis weighed in one fish at exactly 3 lbs! Juniors Toby Farrar and John Weihman had one fish at 2 lbs and 13 oz. Nate Watts and Alex Billingsley weighed in one fish at 2 lbs 8 oz. All of the boys qualified to fish Homecoming weekend. When asked if he was nervous about the tournament, John said, “I am not nervous, I am excited. We are prefishing after school.”
On Homecoming day, our Carterville fishing boys (with the exception of John Weihman, who was replaced with Seth Woodard for the weekend due to John Weihman’s prior engagements) fished from 6am to 1pm in the rain. CHS is very proud of those who qualified, as even if they didn’t take home the prize, they did their very best. Congratulations to the teams that participated!
