The girls soccer team’s  new season is underway with tryouts being held on Monday, February 26th and Tuesday, the 27th at Cannon Park. The girls are practiced four to five days a week up until their first game, March 12th at Harrisburg. Last season the girls did not do their best, ending with a record of 4-12. This year, they hope to beat their best opponents and make it to the regional championship. Last year, the team  participated in many running drills. This showed during their games. The girls were able to out run their competition. This year, the girls have been working on more footwork and new techniques, pushing them to the best of their abilities. Junior, Erin Robertson stated, “Last year it was super cold so we all had to run and move a lot to keep ourselves warm. That allowed us to keep moving with the ball.” This season, the girls have been working hard with their new coach, Chip Lennox. His goals this year are to “strengthen the girls even more and to keep them doing the best that they can in hopes of making it and winning regionals this year”. He helped bring the boys to regionals, and the girls believe they can make it there as well! With that, the 2018 season will put their teamwork and abilities to the test!
