The Carterville Community came together at the high school on February 20 for dinner, which was catered by Fazoli’s and hosted by the senior class. The Fazoli’s dinner is a way for community members to come together with the senior class, one last time before they graduate in a few months. The event was meaningful for all seniors and some of their family, and it was also for the seniors who wanted to go and be able just to see how everything ended up coming together.
The tables were filled with pasta, breadsticks, and laughter from many. Some of the seniors shared memories from elementary school, reminiscing on the simpler days, while other seniors take in how long it has been, and how fast the years have passed. Seniors spent the night talking to their friends and enjoying the food. Many talked about memories they have made throughout their time in high school. It was also just a chance for everyone to sit down and appreciate their final moments together by taking photos.
One thing about the Fazoli’s dinner for the seniors is seeing how many people went, and how much they enjoyed the dinner. Senior Caidence Phillips said, “ My favorite thing about the fazoli’s dinner is seeing the way the community comes together to support the school. I love seeing everyone there and interacting with people. I think it was extra special this year knowing it’s my senior year. I was trying to take every moment in and make it extra special.”
Some of the seniors brought their families to have dinner with them, so their parents could be a part of their kids’ last important moments before they graduate. Senior Nadia Maring said, “It was really nice being able to sit down with all of my friends. It was a moment where we could all just sit down and appreciate everything we have been able to do together as classmates in school and even outside of school.”
In the end, the Fazoli’s dinner is a good way for seniors, their families, and classmates to sit down with each other and eat dinner. This event was important to the seniors since they could connect before they go their separate ways after graduation.
