Since the playoff season is now starting, the football, cheer, and dance teams came together on October 25 for the annual playoff party. Parents, athletes, and coaches celebrated with food and school spirit. This event marks not only the beginning of the playoffs, but a moment to recognize the dedication and hard work from our athletics.

The party began with a prayer over the food and the upcoming playoffs. It took place near the football field, by the concession stand. There were TVs playing clips from the season, tables filled with food, and school spirit circulating the air.

Many athletes enjoyed being around the positive attitudes and the school spirit shared among everyone. This was a very exciting moment for everyone, including the freshmen, as it was their first time at this event. Freshman Adyson Ahner said, “A memory I made was being able to socialize with the dance and the cheer team. I also enjoyed all of the excitement and school spirit throughout the night.”

During the party, teammates shared stories from practices and games. The food table was constantly surrounded with players before heading back to their groups. Parents mingled with coaches, showing their appreciation for all the effort that went into the season. Athletes were able to interact outside of practices and school. A few players tossed a football around while others took photos under the light, capturing unforgettable moments to look back on years from now.

It wasn’t just athletes that were there, though. There were siblings of the athletes, coaches. Many of the coaches’ children have been going to the playoff party for as long as they can remember. Freshman Sadie Lantagne said “My favorite part of the party and the past parties has been socializing with everyone and finding out who we play.”

There were many others who enjoyed the playoff party as well. Freshman Isaiah Phillips said, “It was such a fun experience being surrounded by everyone and feeling the team spirit.”

As the night came to an end, the feeling of school spirit and pride filled the air. Music and conversations faded as the night ended, but the excitement for the upcoming playoffs was clear. The playoff party not only served as an event to celebrate, but it also served as a reminder of the hard work, dedication and teamwork that brought them together in the first place.
