The World Series is set. The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays will face off for it all to decide who the best team in the MLB is in the 2025 season. The Dodgers and the Blue Jays had very different paths to the Championship Round but, nevertheless, they both made it. The Dodgers road to the World Series was not an easy one. They first went on to face the Cincinnati Reds, who were a wild card team that just barely made it into the playoffs, and the Dodgers swept them in 2 games, winning the series 2-0. The Dodgers then went on to the NLCS, which is the second round of MLB playoffs, to play the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies were known as a dangerous team coming into the playoffs with names like Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber. These two guys combined accounted for 276 hits, 207 RBIs, 83 home runs in the 2025 MLB season. Fans all around the world thought that this series would go to a game 5 but the Dodgers didn’t let that happen. The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies in 4 games, winning the series 3-1 which allowed them to advance to the NLDS. The Brewers were the next team that the Dodgers had to face in order to get to the World Series. The Milwaukee Brewers had the best record in the entire MLB in the 2025 season. The Brewers had a really good season and were thought to be one of the only teams who could beat the Dodgers. The Dodgers obviously heard this news and then went on to sweep the Brewers in 4 games, winning the NLDS 4-0. With the Dodgers winning the NLDS, they are now in the World Series.

The Toronto Blue Jays road to the World Series wasn’t as complicated as the Los Angeles Dodgers because of their first round bye. The Blue Jays had the best record in the American League, giving them a first round bye in the playoffs, allowing them to save some pitching. Having a bye in the playoffs not only helps you in the long run, it intimidates other teams and could possibly make you seem better than you actually are. The Blue Jays first played the New York Yankees, who have former AL MVP winner, Aaron Judge. Judge alone can almost win and entire team a series but the pitching also has to be working. The Blue Jays very quickly won the series 3-1 and started to get ready for the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners are pretty unlucky when it comes to the postseason since they didn’t even make the playoffs for 21 consecutive years and they ended this drought in the 2022 season. The Mariners player, Cal Raleigh, hit over 60 home runs for them in the regular season which is why he is also and MVP candidate for the 2025 MLB season. Although the Mariners have a lot of young talent, they still fell just short making the Toronto Blue Jays ALDS champions.
