This quarter’s student spotlight is for Alexis McClellan, a senior who is making a big impact both inside and outside the classroom. McClellan is a member of the girls’ golf team and being a social media editor for the chslionite. She is social and uses her TikTok skills to bring joy to other students.
Outside of school, Alexis volunteers at The Infinity Project as the social media coordinator on the board of members and helps raise money for pets in need, balancing a busy schedule with a 3.7 GPA. As the group’s social media coordinator, she uses her creativity and passion to raise awareness about animals in need, promote adoption events, and share inspiring rescue stories online. When asked why The Infinity Project is important to her, Alexis said, “The Infinity Project, at first, was just a cool organization I thought would be fun to be a part of, but it has become more. It gives me a sense of belonging with everyone there. It makes me feel so good every time we help another family with their pet, allowing them to eat, get microchipped at a low cost or simply save these poor babies when their owners don’t have enough money to care for them themselves. It truly has grown so much in the past year, and I feel like I have grown as a person with it.”
Alexis also said, “I think what motivates me the most is probably my mother. She always teaches me how to be a better person and to try not to let things get to me as easily as they do, and to focus on the things that matter, like my volunteering and keeping good grades, to go into engineering. She has taught me how to keep my goals forward in life and focus my energy on good things, such as that.”
Keep up the good work, Alexis!
