The theme for this year’s homecoming theme was Miami Nights, Neon Lights. The decorations from the student council and the students who aided in decorating the hallways did an excellent job staying on theme. Each hallway was filled with different elements to convey the theme such as: bright colors with streamers hung up, and also the disco balls showing the Miami nights part of the theme. The shiny colors reflecting off of the disco balls was really a big part of it. It was an eye popper to any student walking by, and was truly outstanding work done this year.

The week was also filled with fun activities, like the search for disco balls. Four disco balls were hidden around the school each day for students to find and turn in for a prize which  got  students to be more interactive with the homecoming week. Also, the trivia each day was very fun for students to race to answer each question correctly and as fast as they could to win a prize. Prizes usually help  to get more students involved and have  fun with the week.

The parade for homecoming was filled with the most fun. The high school students being able to ride on floats and throw out candy to elementary students had a feeling of nostalgia. Seeing them  excited with their candy bags brings back so many memories from when all of us were little doing the same thing and looking up to all the high schoolers waiting until we were that age.

CHS senior Macie Clark, who was riding on the golf float says, “My favorite part of the parade was hearing kids scream ‘six seven’ because I just know all of their teachers were confused and it was really funny. It is nostalgic to be one of the ones in the parade instead of sitting on the curb watching it.” The parade was a big moment for her every year to be able to show off her hard work to anyone watching the event.
