Lions Beat Conference Opponent Bulldogs at Home

CARTERVILLE – The Carterville volleyball team blew out their conference rivals in the Harrisburg Bulldogs Tuesday night in two sets. This marks the Lion’s seventh win in a row, and their eleventh win on the season. This also moves their conference record to 2-0, with the only other undefeated team in conference play being the Patriots of Massac County.

Carterville wasted no time getting out to a strong lead in the first set. Opening up with a 10-6 lead in set one, the Lions rode this momentum and took set one by a score of 25-12, thanks to several kills from junior Layla Yates and sophomore Masyn Kries.

Strong play from the back row helped Carterville continue their dominance. A handful of digs from junior libero Dakota Gee helped propel Carterville to a 25-12 win in set two, and a 2-0 win overall.

The Lions look ahead to possibly their biggest test of the season thus far, where they will host 18-5 Massac County on Thursday night. For updates on everything Carterville sports, follow @CHS_Lion_Ath on Twitter/X and @Lions_Ath_CHS on Instagram.
