Boys Golf Senior Night Ends in a Win

CARTERVILLE – The boys golf team faced off against Marion and Massac County en route to a first place finish on senior night with a team score of 151. Carterville’s seniors James Butler and Carson Hagler were celebrated after the event with their families.

Carterville’s top scorer was junior Ryder Eigenrauch, who shot one under par. Eigenrauch was the first Lion to shoot under par at their home course this year. Junior Meade Smith followed closely behind, trailing two shots behind with a 37. Sophomore Will Burzynski finished with a 38, rounding out Carterville’s top three scorers. Butler and Hagler shot a 41 and 42 respectively, with the former making an eagle on hole five, the longest hole on the course, a great way to remember the last home match. Junior Colten Mausey also turned in a 42.

The golf team looks forward to Wednesday, September 17th, where they take off to Kokopelli Golf Club to face Marion once again. For updates on everything Carterville sports, follow @CHS_Lion_Ath on Twitter/X and @Lions_Ath_CHS on Instagram.
