CARTERVILLE – On April 29, the Carterville Lions faced off against the Harrisburg Bulldogs, finishing the game with a score of 3-3.
The Lions started off the game with an early drive, setting the momentum with an early goal by sophomore Lyla Seaman in the first 6 minutes. The Lions continued their streak, sophomore Kylie Quint scored and put the Lions up 2-0 after the first 20 minutes. Nearing the end of the half, a goal from Harrisburg was quickly matched when junior Alea Ruiz set the Lions up with a 3-1 lead at halftime.
The Bulldogs, however, prevailed. The lead narrowed to 3-2 after 10 minutes, and later 3-3 as Harrisburg took aggressive positioning. The Lions were able to pull through their defense and end the game with a tie.
