Lions Defeat the Patriots

CARTERVILLE  – On April 8, the Carterville Lions faced the Massac County Patriots in a home conference match. The Lions took the game in an exceptional performance, winning 9-0.

The Lions started off the game strong, taking the first goal within the first minute off the foot Cara Grob. The momentum continued, and consistent scoring allowed the Lions to take the game away. Carterville led 4-0 in the first 20 minutes, and after halftime, made the score 8-0 which created a mercy rule. Sophomore Lyla Seaman led the performance for the Lions, scoring 2 goals and showing consistent aggression.

The Lions are a strong team that has shown much improvement. Carterville will face Harrisburg next on April 10. For more Sport Reporting information, follow lions_ath_chs!
