Christmas time is known to be one of the most enjoyable times of the year where people gather with close ones and do various of fun activities.

One of the many activities that families and friends enjoy doing together is watch Christmas movies together whether it be sad, funny, or romantic. However, Christmas movies can be a very controversial in which can lead into arguments and disagreements on which is the best or worst movie.

When it comes to favorite Christmas movies there are many movies that are voted as people numbers ones. With movies like “Grinch,” “Elf,” “Christmas Vacation,” and “Home Alone.” The popular vote for adults seemed to be the movies “Christmas Vacation” and “Elf .”

Adult Kaleigh Halliday, age 33, said, “ “Christmas Vacation” because it is is funny, but can be realistic and relatable to family issues that we all deal with during the holidays.”

The 50+ crowd voted with a variety of movies ranging from “Elf” to the classical Christmas movies we all know and love. 58 year old Marcie Carrier states, “Elf. It’s a funny feel-good movie. As ridiculous as it is I think it’s one of Will Ferrell’s best.”

Elf being a classical Christmas family comedy movie is loved by those of all ages due to the many kids and adult humor jokes snuck into the movie. Belinda Peterman, age 60, states, “The original “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rudolph” are my favorites because I grew up watching them and was able to share the same experience with my children and grandchildren.”

The original Christmas movies which include “Rudolph,” “Frosty the Snowman,” and more  are loved by all ages and many people due to it being around for a long time and being shorted films showed by schools, parents, and even grandparents.

The 18 and under vote won for movies like “Grinch,” “Home Alone,” “Polar Express,” and “Elf” in which are “newer” Christmas films only being out for 20 or so years. Jaxon Halliday  a four year old, stated, “ “Polar Express” because it is a really cool movie about this train picking up kids and going to meet Santa on Christmas night which is cool and I have rode the Polar Express before so I can relate.”

The Polar Express is loved by small children due to it being a magical movie with a moving train heading to the north Pole so children can meet Santa before he deliveries his presents

The 2018 film “The Grinch” is loved by many teenagers and younger children due to it being funny and not as scary as Jimmy Carrey’s live action “The Grinch.” 13 year old Brooklyn Halliday said “ The Cartoon Grinch because its a really cute family friendly movie with funny jokes and a movie for the whole family to sit and watch.”

All these Christmas movies are great and loved by many people but there seems to be popular choices for certain age ranges.
