Carterville Proves to Be The King of the Jungle

CARTERVILLE- The Carterville Lions demolished the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats with a striking final score of 54-6.

Senior Luke Johnson started the game strong with the first Carterville touchdown, barely even a minute into the first quarter. Anna-Jonesboro was left stuttering, fumbling one ball after another – with Carterville behind them recovering each one.

Senior Chance Myers gave the Lions their next touchdown, putting the score at 14-0.

To wrap up the first quarter, Senior Ryland Szczeblewski nailed the Anna-Jonesboro quarterback to the ground, further pushing the game in the Lions’ favor.

After Szczeblewski’s sack, AJ attempted to retaliate but fell short when officials called unsportsmanlike conduct.

Lions continued to score against the Wildcats, pushing the score to an outstanding 54-6.

As Carterville began a play from their 5 yard line, attempting another touchdown, AJ took four knees, ending the play and gaining possession.

In the last seconds, AJ fell short and finalized their loss.
