Fall, which is the months of fall are September, October and November, has a very wide variety of harvested food, and it brings forth a pleasant amount of healthy meals for people as the weather starts to cool down and the leaves start to fall from the trees. At Carterville high-school students were given the opportunity to share what their favorite fall food was and why.

There are plenty of popular fall foods such as, pumpkin pie, turkey, ham and much more. But the real question is what’s the favorite food?

The most students picked pumpkin pie as their favorite. The reasoning being pumpkin pie because it’s a nostalgic and gives warm feeling when eating it. One of the students, freshman Kaelei Downs  said pumpkin pie is her favorite “because I like when my Grandma makes homemade pumpkin pie, it tastes really good, and she puts a lot of whipped cream on there which makes it taste even better.”

Second was ham. The salty juicy taste of the warm meat is a very comforting and reminds people of the crisp autumn weather and Thanksgiving. One of the students, freshman Laiah Rivera, said, “Ham because I’m picky and they like ham.”

Some people like them for specific reasons or simple ones. Another student stated, relating to how simple foods are, “I don’t know, just is.”

Freshman Brayden McBride and he said that after voting “ham” was his favorite fall food.

Desserts are also popular in fall, especially around Thanksgiving. Some of those are, Cranberry sauce, cobblers and one for the most popular, pumpkin pie. Another student from Carterville High school chose pumpkin pie as their favorite quote was because, “It tastes good”  said freshman Xander Vinson.

In conclusion, that’s the collective opinion on fall foods of the freshmen students at Carterville High school.

Kylie is a freshman at Carterville High school. She likes all colors, but mainly blues and pinks. She likes stuffed animals and glitter. Kylie likes to run and play soccer with her dad. Kylie likes eating Nutella and strawberries as a snack. Her hobbies are, drawing, painting, running, playing soccer, making videos and singing. Kylie is hoping to go to college to be a doctor.
