After a long-anticipated wait, Raising Cane’s had its grand opening on August 27 in Marion, Illinois. The opening caused lots of excitement throughout the region because previously the closest Cane’s was nearly two hours away. However, now it is only a short drive to get the infamous Raising Cane’s chicken tenders.

Opening day they received a massive turn out, people lined up hours, even nights before they opened the doors. Carterville High School students such as juniors Camden Hicks and James Butler camped outside of Raising Cane’s the night before, allowing them to be the first few to enter. Butler said “the best part about being the first people at Cane’s was the memory with Camden” and that he will “never forget it.”

This new addition to Marion has greatly improved the selection of affordable fast-food restaurants. Being open 10 a.m. to midnight everyday, it attracts many customers throughout the week. Cain’s acts as a hub for people to socialize while simultaneously enjoying a good meal. There are many sitting options including tables both inside and outside, while also the mobile pick-up option and drive thru.

Even after the grand opening, Cane’s continues to have many customers throughout the weeks. One reason being because of the iconic menu with many popular items such as the original Raising Cane’s sauce and chicken tenders. These unique menu items, that many other fast food restaurants don’t have, cause people to come back for more of their favorite foods and even recommend it to others.

“I would recommend this new Raising Cane’s to others because their chicken is extremely crispy and their sweet tea is amazing. The Marion Raising Cane’s is the best one I have ever been to” said junior Addy Horn.

There has been lots of positive feedback on not only the food, but the efficient customer service at Raising Cane’s. Despite being extremely busy with the opening, the workers are able to get everyone their food in an orderly fashion. Many people have expressed their appreciation of the service such as junior Lily Arnett.

“I thought that it would just be okay, but then I got it and the chicken is pretty good quality and the Texas Toast is pretty good. It seems very clean and efficient and they are also pretty quick even though it’s new and very busy” said Arnett.

Throughout the community, there have been many positive reviews about the new Raising Cane’s as they provide high quality, delicious food through their excellent customer service with a unique dining experience.
