As another exciting season is approaching Carterville Lions Football fans, there are many things to look forward to this upcoming season. Whether it be really exciting or possibly even a little scary, the lions and their many fans are ready to come back and make this a memorable season.

Football is by far one of the most loved sports, many people look forward to the upcoming season each and every year. With this,  comes the pumped up Carterville Crazies, the student section or spirit squad which come to every game to show their love and support. Not only are there Carterville Crazies many retired football members come to cheer on the boys and many loving family members come to support as well. Even teachers and people who typically don’t go to games come out and support the players and cheer them on.

With many nervous about the upcoming season, there comes new possibilities and learning opportunities for players and coaches alike. With this being the last season as a Lion for many players, there is hope that it will be a great one.  “I feel good, I think we’re ready to go, we have prepared all summer and It’s time to get after it” says senior Chance Myers.

The boys will push to their best ability and continue to grow as a team, and as a family. Senior Parker Poole said “This season feels special to me because it’s my last time playing with all my friends. I know how much I will miss wearing that uniform again so I soak every moment of this last year.”

Coaches definitely make a big impact on how a team does and plays. Carterville has a total of nine football coaches helping the team play to their best ability. Head football coach and high school sports director, Brett Diel, said “We are just going to continue to work each week like we normally would, we play a bunch of people and we are going to stick to the process and it will work itself out, it always does.”

With strive and determination, this season will hopefully turn out to be a really good one with great memories and great times to talk about.  If one is a lion fan, come out on Friday nights to show your love and support for all of the lions.
