CARTERVILLE – The Carterville Lions Girls Golf team found themselves in last place against Hamilton County and Benton with a final score of 233 strokes.

The Lions were led by freshman Merryn Elliot, contributing 49 of the 233 strokes.

When asked about how she felt at the first match of the season coming in as a freshman, she said “I was nervous at first, but then I prepared by practicing and talking to my teammates, and once I got out there I was okay.”
