The Game That Broke A School Record

CARTERVILLE – The Lady Lions softball beat the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats 6-0 with the help of sophomore Taryn Ford beating the school record for 18 strike-outs on the mound.

Starting the game strong, the Lions blocked out the Wildcats with a run from senior Kennedy Rushing leaving the score 1-0 Carterville heading to the top of the 2nd inning.

With Taryn Ford striking out one A-J batter after another, the Wildcats did not stand a chance as Carterville continued to score 5 in the top of the 6th. Before Lions headed back into the field, sophomore Sofia Badiu progressed her team to 6-0.

In the last pitch of the game, as the batter for the Wildcats hit the ball into foul territory, junior Kendall McCalla caught the foul and gave the Lions the 3rd out they needed to finish the game.
