CARTERVILLE- Carterville soccer hosted Pinckneyville to take a 5-2 win on Thursday, September 28.
The Lions started off strong with a goal in the 12th minute by Michael Cagle with an assist from Camden Wright. Following this goal, Pinckneyville bounced back with a goal tying up the score, making it anyone’s game. The Lions scored three goals to wrap up the first half, heading into the locker rooms 4-1.
The second half was balanced between the two teams until the 51st minute with Pinckneyville scoring a goal making the score 4-2. Keith Layson answered for Carterville with a goal in the 56th minute furthering the score difference. The Lions ended the game strong, winning 5-2 with a win going into their next game against Centralia on Monday, October 2nd at home.
