CARTERVILLE – The Lions boys soccer team prevailed to a 7-2 victory against the Harrisburg Bulldogs.

The Carterville Lions started off hot as Keegan Webber scored the first of 7 goals in the fifth minute of the first half.

For the first twelve minutes of the contest, it was a tight game.  It was not until the 12th minute that the Lions began to gain some ground and pull away from the Bulldogs when Camden Walker scored the second goal of the game.

The Lions roared on to win the game 7-2.  They dominated the Bulldogs on their home turf.

Senior Hatcher Bickett said about his chemistry with junior Keith Layson, “Me and Keith like to work hard, we’ve been playing together for a few years now.  Every time we’re not on the ball working our hardest to get in good positioning, after that it’s pretty just pretty easy to find each other.”

The Lions soccer team plays next at home on Thursday evening.  They will host the Pinckneyville Panthers at 6:30.
