CARTERVILLE – Boys soccer walked away with a 1-0 win Thursday night against the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats.

Throughout the first half both sides battled it out for control but neither dominated.

Keegan Weber and Keith Layson both moved the ball downfield, however this was to no avail as the Wildcats pushed back.

As the second half started, it was prevalent that both teams were tiring out however the Lion’s conditioning paid off and they outran the Wildcats.

The single goal came from sophomore Atticus Applebee with an assist from Weber in the 64th minute.

The boys’ soccer team will play again on September 19 at Murphysboro at 6:00 P.M.
