HERRIN- Carterville volleyball took a hard loss to the neighboring Herrin Tigers. The Lions volleyball team battled with the Tigers for two sets, ultimately losing 27-25 and 26-24.
The Lions started off with a lead of 11-5 at the first timeout. Herrin made a large comeback to tie the game at 20-20. The Lions tried to keep up with the Tigers and unfortunately lost the first set in extra points 27-25.
In the second set, the Lions started off very close, but they were down early 6-4. The Lady Lions were having trouble serving the ball which gave the Tigers unearned points.
Carterville was down by two trying to steal the game, but Herrin took advantage of defensive errors causing the Lions to lose 26-24.
