CARTERVILLE – The Carterville Lady Lions soccer team faced off against the Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats on Tuesday, March 27. The Lady Lions dominated the game, holding the Wildcats scoreless, as they took a 5-0 win.

Lion freshman Alea Ruiz had two goals, along with senior Rylee Davis who also netted a pair.

“Scoring a goal is one of the best feelings in soccer,” said Davis. “Having a team to help me accomplish those achievements means a lot, I couldn’t ask for a better group of girls.”

Junior Sydne Congiardo was another Lion who contributed to the offensive onslaught.

“We connected really well and had high energy the entire game,” said Congiardo when asked about the team’s energy.

The Lady Lions walked away with a win in dominant fashion and look forward to taking on Massac County on April 4.
