The Lady Lions gained a competitive win last night against the Christopher Bearcats, 48-43. They remain 5-3 in the conference with an overall record of 18-13.

Both teams started the half with dominant play on both sides of the ball. It was a back-and-forth first half with both teams heading into the locker room tied at 26.

The Lions were able to keep up the energy in the second half. With their teamwork on defense, they were able to hold Christopher and gain the win.

Junior point guard, Hillary Siemer, was the leading scorer for the Lions with 18 points.

“I thought we played really good defense and everyone stepped up on offense in order to beat a really good team,” said Siemer.

Last night was the Lady Lions final regular season game. They will play their first round of Regionals on Saturday, February 11th, at 7 p.m. against the Murphysboro Red Devils at Carterville High School.
