The Carterville Bass Fishing Team kicked off the season to a great start. The team will have a total of four meets until the Bass Fishing season ends. The team includes Zack Liddell, Logan Halstead, Burk Robinson, Max Poole, Alex Billingsley, Nate Watts, John Weiman, Toby Farrar, Nicholas Laird and Luke Busby. On Saturday April 12, the team attended the Marion Invitational. There was a total of 72 boats, and the schools involved ranged from Chester to Massac County. The tournament started at 6 A.M. and lasted until 2 P.M. There was a five fish limit, that had to be over twelve inches. The team got 27th place, with 9 pounds and 7.2 ounces. When freshman Max Poole was asked what he looks forward to in his next year on the team, he said “I look forward to catching my biggest bass”. So far the team is doing a great job and you can “catch” them anytime on the lake. Good luck, boys!
