What is the Best Girl Scout Cookie Flavor ?

Zakaria Jackson, Staff Writer

For the past one hundred and one years, there has been a topic that has been well debated. What is the best Girl Scout cookie flavor? Girl Scout cookies are a favorite to many. People may say that a certain cookie flavor is better than another. Carterville High School junior, Amy Sarver explains, “Samoas are the best flavor of Girl Scouts Cookies to me because they are different from the rest”. Another student, sophomore Lukas Jones, states that “Thin Mints are my favorite because I like the combination of chocolate and mint. They are also best with milk.” Approximately two hundred Carterville High School study hall students were surveyed and the results were close. Thirty-seven percent say that the best Girl Scout cookie flavor is Thin Mints. Close behind with a percentage of twenty-three is Samoas. Third place with an even smaller percentage gap of twenty-one percent, is Tagalongs. In 2011, the Girl Scout organization put out a survey showing their five best selling cookies from most to least popular. The top five were Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, and Trefoils.  The overall statistics say that the top three flavors, Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs are the best flavors. Even though the Girl Scout cookie season has ended for this year, this debate will continue! The real question is, do you agree? For now we’ll all have to settle with the fact that Thin Mints are the overall best girl scout cookie at Carterville High School and to the Girl Scout Company.
